Soccer — Football

As the last day of my vacation quickly approaches, the end mirrors the beginning; watching soccer. However the skill leave of the two varied greatly as I was watching AYSO championship games and now Euro 2008.

It finally dawned on my why older we, Americans, get less we enjoy soccer… its fun running around chasing a ball. Thats the only reason we played as kids, look at the back yard rules… don’t touch the ball with your hands, get the ball between those two cones you get a point… other than that we just kicked the ball around and ran after it. We didn’t care about dribbling nor ball control skills just kick and run… thats exactly what I saw at the AYSO games, granted they where little kids, but I’m certain the participation drop off exist because of this.

High Oil, High Gas

Today I saw a barrel of crude oil closed at $119.48 while the local price per gallon was $3.599. I also saw the prediction a barrel will go for $200 by years end… now if you have a 1:1 relationship between curde oil and gas we should see gas prices somewhere around $6… which of course isn’t going to happen… well not this year… which leads me to this question. At what price point is it economically viable to pursue massive mass transit programs?

processor architecture name

So I’ve had my nice new penryn based MacBook for about two months now… and this evening… err morning… was a little bored

command result
uname -p i386
machine i486
arch i386
sysctl hw.machine i386

What gives… where does machine pull from? and the man page for arch states “For examples of the property list format, look at the files in /System/Library/archSettings” I don’t have that file… I would be interested to see what it contained.

arw

I finally started to clean up the the old nasty dark-age theme that was to something better… but not a modern-age them… I have dub this implementation arw.

So far just the bare bone basics have been completed… I still have plenty to do. I believe I will continue the current path and continue to segregate the CSS implementation from TxP, as in TxP will no longer ‘manage’ the CSS… long term I plan the check the implementation files into a SVN repository to track changes… once that happens arw, might become arc.

HISTORY:

- RELEASE -- arw 0.1-alpha
- ran basic page layout thru w3c validator, squashed bugs
- reworked default article to fit the design, including class tags
- stripped out 'about' data and replaced with txp tags
- implemented about.risckyworkings.com in YUI

The umbrella triumbrant

Just a little FYI update on the triumbrant of riscky sites… well the plan anyways…

riscky.info will basically be an about page and a historical/preservation archive of old material… not sure how thats going to work just yet with some content in various CMS… riscky.info main page should also point to/be my main about page…

risckyWorkings.com should turn to CMS-PMS. I’m thinking I will use retrospectiva for the PMS back end… hopefully this will hold my .files, old CS projects, and my old S9Y projects… if I can find them…

risckyBabble.org should stay the same… once I replace this ugly theme… what was I thinking?!?
